In this tour you will meet, feel and taste the wines of one of the famous wine region in Romania, Moldavia. The history was cruel with this region, being splitted after the 2nd world war in two parts, one is the Romanian region of Moldova and the other being the old Basarabia, now known as Republic of Moldova. But both region are linked by their famous and good wines! Come and meet the best Moldavian wines, come and visit the biggest wine cellar in Europe and may be in entire world, meet the wonderful Moldavian cuisine, music, culture and get acquainted with our traditions and way of life!!
DAY 1
Sunday: Arrival in Bucharest. Transfer to Focsani. Dinner and wine tasting in one of the vineyards in the neighborhood. Accommodation in Focsani to a 3* Hotel.
DAY 2
Monday: Departure to Iasi. Lunch and wine tasting at Vinia Iasi, the most important vineyard in the region of Iasi. Accommodation at Hotel Traian 4*. In the evening we will enjoy a special dinner at the Bucium monastery, a monk monastery, which produces high quality wines. You will be amazed by the quality of the holly wine, and enjoy talking with monks and church officials about… wines.
DAY 3
Tuesday: Today we will rest a little bit, enjoy a city tour, and prepare for the long competition between the Bucium wines, which will end with a special dinner in their vineyard. Same accommodation.
DAY 4
Wednesday: We depart to Republic of Moldavia and around noon we arrive in Chisinau. Lunch and city tour in the afternoon. After 2-3 hours for rest we will depart 30km to Cricova to enjoy a wine tasting and special dinner. Accommodation to a 4* Hotel.
DAY 5
Thursday: Visit of the historical complex from Orhei, lunch to a local family and return to Chisinau. Dinner and wine tasting at Milestii Mici the competitor of Cricova. Accommodation in the same hotel.
DAY 6
Friday: Departure to Romania, we will cross the border at Albita. Right after this interesting moment we will stop to a gipsy village where we will enjoy a very special lunch in open air having along a gipsy band singing for us. Also, like always, wine will accompany us. We will taste several wines, and for sure you will be excited by the white-rose wine from Bohotin, a 40ha vinery, ONE and ONLY in entire world, which is producing the “Busuioaca de Bohotin”. Late afternoon we will depart and be accommodated in Focsani again.
DAY 7
Saturday: Departure to Bucharest over Ploiesti so that we taste the wine from Tohani and lunch and arrive around 15.00-16.00 in Bucharest. Short city tour and after we accommodate we will have the last wine tasting in Romania with the best sommelier available, with whom you can change ideas, impressions etc. Dinner after the wine tasting.
