Romanian Architectural tour

Romania is a mixture of cultures. This can be also observed if you visit different cities in different regions. Starting with the “old Paris of Eastern Europe” to the today metropolitan city which is Bucharest (having also a deep footprint of communists architecture ) to Iasi the boemian University city and capital of Moldavia, over Cluj the baroc city of Romania, and the “saxon” cities of Transylvania ( Brasov, Sibiu ) you will be amazed about the huge differences between them. You will be accompagned by a professional architect
with whom you can discuss about other themes also.

Day 1. Sunday:Arrival in Bucharest. Accommodation in a 3*+ or 4* Hotel, meet your guide, wellcome cocktail and presentation. Dinner.

Day 2. Monday: This day will be fully dedicated to Bucharest. We will visit not only Bucharest but also the Mogosoaia Palace where we will have lunch. Visit also the famous “communist buliding” the Parliament Palace. Afternoon we will have a walking city tour,enjoy a beer in one of the oldest Restaurants in downtown Bucharest and dinner with a Romanian wine
tasting before.

Day 3. Tuesday:Bucharest – Iasi. We will drive about 500 km to Iasi , having lunch in Birlad. Arrival in Iasi around 4 PM, accommodation in the Eiffel built Hotel at the end of 19th century, Hotel Traian. Dinner in the city

Day 4. Wednesday: Today we will visit Iasi from 2 points of view, from the architectural one, and the orthodozism one. We will be accompagned by a monk who will explain also about the orthodox world. Special dinner in the most important monastery in Iasi and have the pleasure to listen a vocal choire singing bysantin music.

Day 5. Thursday: Iasi - Tirgu Mures (stop for an hungarian lunch and short visit of the city) – Cluj. Accommodation on the “mirror street” at the 4* Hotel Agape, next to the Michael Cathedral. Dinner in Hotel

Day 6. Friday: Dedicated to Cluj. We will have the pleasure also to meet an Universityprofessor from the Art University in Cluj, who will introduce us in the art life from Cluj. Lunch in Cluj and dinner in a special Restaurant in the old city.

Day 7. Saturday: Cluj – Alba Iulia – Sibiu. On the way we will stop to visit Alba Iulia and around 1PM we will arrive in Cluj, Accommodation in a more than 200years old 4* Hotel downtown. Visit of the first saxon city. Dinner outside the city in a private home. The village is highly interestiong one also from the architectural point of view. After dinner return to the Hotel.

Day 8. Monday: Sibiu – Brasov. On the way we will stop to visit the Simbata Monastery a typical Brancoveanu style. Arrival in Brasov around noon, lunch in the city, city tour, special dinner with classical music, accommodation in a 5* Hotel downtwon.

Day 9. Tuesday: Brasov - Bucharest. We will drive over the Prahova Valley where we will stop to visit the Peles Castle in Sinaia the former residence of the royalfamily in Romania.
Lunch in Sinaia and afternoon arrival in Bucharest or direct to the airport for the homeflight. Accommodation and special farewell dinner.

Day 10. Wednesday: Departure back home.
