Come to the city who was in 2007 the cultural city of Europe. Come and enjoy the old saxon architecture, the Bruckenthal Museum, the most beautiful village museum in Romania - located in the young forrest just outside the city -, and have the chance to see and understand the history and life of what once was a prosperous culture and civilisation in this part of Europe.
Visit the only inhabited citadel in this region, Sighisoara- Schassburg - and see where the famous Dracula was born. Have a drink in his honor in exactly the house where he was born.
Friday:
Arrival in Sibiu in the morning, transfer to your 3* Hotel located in the heart of the city. Guided walking city tour of the center of Sibiu, dinner with wine tasting from the region in one of the interesting restaurants in downtown Sibiu.
Saturday:
One day trip to Sighisoara. After breakfast departure to Sighisoara. On the way you could visit the Saint Margareta lutheran church, the one with the most beautiful altar in the region. Your trip continues to Biertan, the old saxon bishop residence and after the visit you could have a good lunch in Unglerus Restaurant. Afternoon, around 2 pm you will reach Sighisoara, optional walking city tour of the medieval citadel, you can enjoy a coffee break in Dracula’s house, the oldest building in the citadel since 15th century. Would you like to drink a bloody vodka? Also you have the chance to drink a special apple juice made by the locals, an initiative of the Eminescu foundation, sponsored and supported by prince Charles.
Afternoon return to Sibiu, optional having a special dinner in Sibiel at a local family, having the chance to eat and drink local food and our national drink "tuica”", a plum brandy.
Sunday:
After the party we had yesterday, we will get up late in the morning, have a late breakfast, if time permitts you can visit the best and biggest village museum in Romania, or visit the Bruckenthal Art Museum. Free lunch.
